Russian Linguist

Russian linguist requirements and description of work

Duties require a competent, self -motivated  4/4/4 or 5/5/5 level Russian linguist who will assist military lead planners throughout all phases of planning and executing USCENTCOM battle staff and combined joint training exercises.  A 3/3/3 with strong military background may be considered for this position.

Applicant must be a U.S. Citizen, able to obtain an Interim Security clearance.  A final Secret Security clearance is preferred. Assistance in applying for security clearance is provided by the company security manager.  Applicant must be willing to travel both within the Continental United States and Internationally.

Job Description:

- In coordination with the Exercise Branch lead military planner and the country/sub-region lead translate and execute RC conferences and exercises to include all associated documents, messages and briefings.
- In coordination with the Exercise Branch lead military planner and the country/sub-region lead action officer, in preparation for and support of overseas planning conferences prepare and translate conference announcement messages, briefings, conference agendas; hotel accommodations/support contract, and secure audio-visual equipment as required.
- In coordination with lead planner, identify and translate the primary decisions and information from the overseas planning conferences and summarize them for transmission to exercise participants in conference results message. Messages are designed to keep all participants informed on the latest information.
- Participate in daily "Hotwash" planning sessions during the course of the exercise and Executive Seminar.
- Provide administrative and note taking support if required, at designated events during the exercise and Executive Seminar.
- Arrive at the exercise location a minimum of three days prior to the start of the conferences and exercise in order to support the lead planner as necessary with translation and set-up of site.
- Attend planning, coordination, and synchronization meetings as required.
- May be required to work extended hours for surge periods in support of in response to conference and exercise preparation and execution and real world contingency operations.
- Support exercise coordination activities: to include translating exercise documents between English and Russian, provide translating services during exercise planning meetings, and translation support for logistic planners.
- Translate Host Nation exercise planning products to English language to include exercise planning directives, conference agendas, exercise concepts, Power Point presentations. Memoranda of Agreement, and letters of invitation.
- Translate (write) and interpret (speak) military and operational terms and documents from Russian to English and from English to Russian during the exercise as well as support with translating and interpreting during the off duty hours.
- Accompany the delegation in order to translate and interpret during off duty hours on shopping trips, meals, cultural tours and other activities.
- Translate military terminology and doctrine.
- Utilize Cyrillic keyboard and possess knowledge of current Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint Programs.
- Translate U.S. exercise planning products into the Russian language to include exercise planning directives, conference agendas, exercise concepts, Power Point presentations, Memorandum of Agreements, and letters of invitation.

Counter Intelligence Agents  -  Urgently needed.

There is a unique opportunity to serve the United States as an Interrogator and Counter Intelligence Agent as part of a rebuilding effort in Iraq. Operational Support and Services (OSS) hopes to obtain Middle-Eastern language speakers to help with this effort. This position requires a one-year obligation.
